What are Discord boost levels?

A Server Boost is applied to a Discord server. As a server receives enough active boosts, it can reach higher boost levels and unlock additional server-wide perks.

The current standard thresholds are 2 boosts for Level 1, 7 boosts for Level 2, and 14 boosts for Level 3.

LevelTotal boosts requiredTypical goal
Level 12 boostsEntry-level server perks
Level 27 boostsMore customization and quality upgrades
Level 314 boostsHighest standard boost level

Important

These are total active boosts on the server. If your server already has active boosts, subtract those from the target level.

Discord Level 1

Level 1 is reached at 2 active Server Boosts. It is the first main server level and unlocks an initial set of server upgrades.

Discord currently lists benefits such as increased emoji capacity, 128 Kbps audio quality, improved Go Live streaming, an animated server icon, and a custom server invite background among Level 1 perks.

Discord Level 2

Level 2 is reached at 7 total active boosts. It includes the lower-level benefits while adding further customization and quality improvements.

Current Level 2 perks include higher audio quality, more emoji and sticker capacity, a server banner, larger server upload limits, and custom role icons.

Already at Level 1?

If your server currently has 2 active boosts, you need 5 additional boosts to reach a total of 7.

Discord Level 3

Level 3 is reached at 14 total active boosts and is the highest of Discord's three standard Server Boost levels.

Discord currently documents Level 3 voice audio quality up to 384 Kbps, alongside the additional Level 3 server benefits available in Discord.

Which boost level should you choose?

  • Level 1: a lower boost requirement for basic server perks.
  • Level 2: useful when you want more customization and higher limits.
  • Level 3: the highest standard server level and its full set of perks.

Check the server's current boost count before deciding how many additional boosts you need.
